Meals on Wheels of Greater St. Louis receives no governmental funds or subsidies. It receives donations from church groups, businesses, civic organizations, and individuals. Such donations help certain recipients who are experiencing extreme financial hardship and cannot afford to pay the entire cost of a meal. Donation receipts also help to cover items like insulated transport boxes needed for meal delivery, and the many general supply items needed to carry out each of the 16 area programs.
